Born in Utah, Melissa says she and her brother were the only Jewish / Irish Catholic redheads in their school, making for an interesting upbringing. Melissa feels that those early experiences in life of not quite fitting in anywhere contributed to her adventurous and pioneering spirit.
Melissa started traveling right after high school and through college working summer jobs at Red Fish Lake Lodge, doing a stint in Texas, and eventually ended up in Alaska working in the fishing industry in Ketchikan and even as a cook in a bar in Haines. This early adventure allowed her to make money to travel, her lifelong dream, which she did for several years.
Eventually, Melissa came back home to Utah and settled in Park City, where she has been ever since. Her son went through the Park City School system and her daughter is in High School. Melissa has always been deeply committed to giving back to her community and has held Board positions in several nonprofits over the years, was on the Park City Planning Commission for five years, including one year as Chair, is the current Chair of the PC Board of Realtors Legislative Committee and the Summit County Economic Advisory Board. She has received advanced industry accreditations including Accredited Buyer Representative, Seller Representative Specialist, and Resort and Second Home Property Specialist.
Melissa still loves travel and spends as much time as possible doing so. She and the love of her life own a second home in Mexico and their love of wine has led Melissa to pursue credentials as a sommelier. She has passed her introductory for the Master Court of Sommeliers and is now working on her Certified. Never stop learning and growing is her motto!
