About Sara Werbelow

Some of Sara’s earliest memories are of skiing from town to town in the Austrian Alps with her parents who were living adventurous lives around Europe. Sara has lived, studied, and worked abroad and speaks German fluently. During the year she was studying at the University of Vienna she passed the Austrian National Ski Exam and was hired as the only American and female instructor in an Austrian Ski school in Kitzbuhel. These rugged alpine experiences set the tone for Sara’s love for the majestic mountains. After extended periods in California and Hawaii (where she obtained her MBA degree), Sara found herself with an opportunity to come home to the mountains. She was recruited by Goldman Sachs as an Acquisitions Analyst and spent time pursuing distressed real estate for the finance giant who had an office on Park City’s historic Main Street. Sara developed a love for the rich character of Park City’s historic district and got involved directly with preservation efforts via the city’s Historic Preservation Board where she served as its Chair and helped to write new design guidelines for the district. 

Sara fell into the world of residential real estate by working for developers in Deer Valley who built the first “condo-tels” in the area. She was licensed as a Realtor in 2000 and as a Principal Broker in 2006. Sara was the Broker of a boutique real estate company at The Chateaux in Silver Lake and a dedicated Broker for the developer. Sara helped design the last phase of the development and became an expert in Equity Residence club sales. Sara knows the Deer Valley area intimately both on and off the mountain having been part of the esteemed Deer Valley Mountain Host Department for many years. Sara’s interests go far beyond the Deer  Valley landscape, having lived in and around the Wasatch Back since 1998. 

Sara has always had a passion for her community. Sara has served in many leadership roles and for nonprofits. Sara is a Past President of the Park City Board of Realtors; after serving as the board’s President, she received the Park City Board of Realtors’ distinguished honor, “Realtor of the Year,” an award bestowed by her peers. Sara is a Past Chair of the Park City Chamber and Visitors Bureau. Sara loved serving on the Ski Utah board, which is the key driver and advocate for the ski industry in Utah, and other nonprofits in the community that spurred her interest. Sara is the immediate Past President of the Park City Board of Realtors’ Philanthropic Foundation. Sara’s favorite setting is outdoors in the fresh air, all seasons are welcome! In her free time Sara is happiest when she is spending time with her children who are both born and raised Parkites. Sara’s friends and family keep her grounded and enjoying all life has to offer!
